A large work by Hokumei Nakano is displayed on the wall of the staircase. This piece has been lent from the Hokumei Nakano Calligraphy Memorial Exhibit in Haboro. The pieces are occasionally rotated on an indeterminate schedule.

⑧Rumoi City Library(Suminoecho 2 chome 1-1, Rumoi)

In this work, the children’s song Akatombo (Red Dragonfly), was rendered in calligraphy by Hokumei Nakano. The first verse is large and the rest of the verses although small, are all inscribed in this work.

⑩Maruichi Honma House – Former merchant house(Bentencho 1 chome 27, Mashike)

Poems written by Iwaya Ichiroku, one of the three great calligraphers of the Meiji era, are displayed in the inner and guest rooms.

⑪Ishikari Hamanasu Local Museum (Former Shiratorike Fishermen’s Lodge) (Hamamasu 77-1, Ishikari)

This museum of regional history is housed in a fishing lodge which was built in 1899. Calligraphic art by Iwaya Ichiroku, great calligrapher of the Meiji era, is displayed here.
